One of the biggest things that is asked about the gym is, "How long should I be in the gym?" Generally, this answer changes from person to person. The main thing you should be asking is, "How many sets should I do for every muscle group I am training?" This answer is how you get the answer about how much time you should spend in the gym. Most likely, if you are trying to grow muscle, you should focus a total of nine sets per muscle group, so most likely you can break each muscle group into three exercises for three sets for each exercise. But feel free to add in supersets into each set to help work more of the muscle and tear possibly more muscle fibers. Now, one thing everyone should know about building muscle is that it is not always about how much you can lift on an exercise, take each rep slowly and really concentrate that you are doing the movement correctly. In correlation to this, make sure that at your last set, you should be struggling so much that the last couple reps you might have to even cheat a little to finish them. As an example, for biceps, it doesn't matter if you're curling 50 lbs dumbbells if you're swinging your whole body to even be able to get it up. Ego lifting like that can cause muscle tears and other types of strain. Grab those 15 lbs and work your way up. There are major fitness influencers only curling 30 lbs maximum, but they are taking it slow and making sure they are doing the movement correctly. Usually what it takes me personally and others that I know, a single gym session can take anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. But make sure you are doing the exercises correctly and to almost or even to failure.

I always aim for quality over quantity when lifting so I prefer lighter weights if it means that I'm doing it correctly.
Yeah I agree, completely depends on the person and what routine works the best for them
